My candle journey officially began at the beginning of 2022. I had a “pandemic baby” and made the decision to stay home with my two children after teaching special education for over ten years. I wanted to find a creative career that would be a good fit for a stay-at-home mom, did some research and discovered candle making.

One winter day when I was at the grocery store, I stumbled across a candle kit and gave it a try. I figured if I could make a candle, then I would go for it. It actually worked! I ended up buying a larger candle kit, wax and essential oils and began experimenting. As it turns out, what I made was toxic and not safe for my family and cats. My goal was to learn how to make candles that I felt were 100% safe to light at home around my family and cats.

I found an amazing candle mentor in Milwaukee who guided me through the process of candle making safely. After almost 1 year of experimenting, testing and retesting I finally had my first products to launch December 2022. I have an extremely high standard of using safe scents that go through rigorous testing excluding phthalates and California’s Prop 65 list. Scents are free of carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins and acute toxins. Furthermore, we use USA grown soybeans, USA made products and eco-friendly packaging. The packaging we use is reused from gently used shipping and packing materials. Additionally, it is important to me to help and support other small businesses throughout my candle journey.

I spent most of 2022 and 2023 developing a spring/summer and fall/winter line that I am excited and proud to share with you. I hope you enjoy using my candles and much as I enjoyed making them for you.
